Up the Hill
Part 3:Dread
"Okay
Topaz...let's play a game."said the raven haired man holding
Topaz over the ground outside of the window."I was
kidding!KIDDING!!!"he yelled.
Maile
cried."Don't hurt him Jack!!!"
"Jesus man
first you were all moody all over Jill,I tried
cheering you up,and this is the thanks I get?!"Topaz yelled as Jack
held his neck.
"...You're
right..."Jack said pulling him back in by the window.
...
"Off you
go!!!"he pushed him out the window smiling.
"Topaz!!!"Maile
got infront of Jack to look down the window.Nothing serious...but you
know how she is...love in the air.
Vampires
can fly but without enough concentration,they just...well land.
Jack
smilled and turned away."Ah that feels much better...I should do it
more often."he laughed and walked away.
He walked
out of the lobby and closed the huge door.He walked
towards the exit of the castle.Before he opened the door to get some
fresh night air,he sensed something and turned around.
A shadowy
figure,dragging itself towards him.
Orange eyes
full of shock and tears.Dress partly torn.Blood around her body.
Jill
dragged herself slowly.
"Jill...what
the FUCK?!"Jack's eyes were wide opened at her
appearance.Jill continued dragging herself slowly to him.When near she
fell on Jack.
Tears were
flowing in fear."Or-...Or-..."
Then
nothing more was said...
Sunset
came.It was another night...Jill slept through
ever since she collasped on Jack.The owls made noises but then a
screech was heard as it was killed by a bat.So much for a peaceful
night.
The woman
turned trying to wake up after that time.She yawned
and opened her eyes slowly.They were blurry but then they were clear.
"Boo."
"AIIIEEEEEE!!!!!"she
screamed slapping Jack.
"Awake?"Maile
said walking to the stairs going to the kitchen with Topaz.
"Yup."
"Jeez."Jack
rubbed his pale cheek."And after all that carrying you here I get
slapped by a crazy woman."
"Crazy?YOU'RE
THE ONE WHO'S CRAZY!!!"
"Me?Crazy?"he
grinned."Maybe,maybe not."He shrugged."It depends what you define
'crazy'.But you want to see crazy?"
"Uhh..."Jill
said with a nervous face,eye twitching.
By a blink
of an eye Jack appeared behind the woman and grabbed her.He then
nibbled her ear.
"EEEK!!!"she
punched him.Right in the kisser!
He fell on
the floor."You said you wanted to see crazy." "I did
not!"Jill screamed."If I did I said"Sure Jack I wanna see you Craz-"he
then grinned."NO I DON'T!!!"
Jill gasped
for breath after that weird fight she had with the jerk.Silence came
into Jill's room for a while.She then spoke.
"Hmph
Jerk..."she muttered.Jack just looked outside at her
window,pondering.Then he laughed a little."You did put a little fight
huh?Partying with someone?"
"None of
your business..."She crossed her arms and sat on the
bed,looking away.Jack's voice became more serious."Stupid,you went to
fight Orlock didn't you?"
"So what if
I...did?"Jill said trying to hold the fear of what he did to her.
"You're the
one who is crazy.Orlock can make you scared and
tortured if you ever defy him.He'll make horrible memories come to
you,disect you,and maybe even put you in an iron maiden!"Jack growled.
"Well
because of you,you made my life a living hell!!!"Jill yelled.
"A LIVING
HELL?!"Jack's voice roared.Jill stood still in fear
of the anger he relesed."YOU THINK YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE IS IN HELL?!"
"N-no-"
"DAMMIT I
LOST MY FUCKING FAMILY!MY WIFE,MY CHILD,MY
HUMANITY,EVERYTHING!AND YOU THINK YOU'RE THE ONE IN HELL?!LOOK AT ME
LOOK AT WHAT I'VE BEEN THROUGH!"
"J-Jack I
didn't-"she was about to cry.
"YOU THINK
BEING TORTURED BY ORLOCK IS TORTURING?!I'VE BEEN
TORTURED BY HIM SEVERAL TIMES.DEMONS TRY EATING MY SKIN,ORLOCK PUTTING
ME IN AN IRON MAIDEN,AND MADE ME LIVE THROUGH THIS SHIT EVER SINCE I
BECAME A VAMPIRE!!!"
Jill was in
shock.Jack gasped for breath after the anger and
truth released out of him.He got up and was about to walk out of the
room.
"I knew
that..."
"Knew
what?"Jack turned his head back looking at her angrily.
"Emily...Julia..."she
whispered.Jack's eyes widened opened."You...you didn't-"
"Vallov
showed me your photo album.I know please don't be mad at him...I needed
to know."Jill said.
"After he
told me what happened,I couldn't bear seeing him
torture your whole life even if you were a stupid jerk.He can't do that
to anybody...I know...I'm the one who's crazy."Jill looked away in
tears.
Jack looked
at her crying.What has he done?Of course it was
okay to tell the truth but this was the worst way.Yelling and screaming
the hell out of somebody and watch them cry like they're weak.Even
after what they tried to do for you.
Jill felt
an embrance of a cold body wrapping around her.She looked up and saw
him closing his eyes.
Jack.
Part 4: Accustomed
Night has fallen once again everyone
was up except Jill.She was so
tired that her eyes always popped open after closing.After two hours
later,she opened her eyes and got up.
She stretched and put on her same
dress she wore which was
fixed and sewn by Maila.Jeez do you know how hard it was for her to get
the blood off?
Jill brushed her hair trying to get
every tangle off.Then unexpectingly
the door flew opened.
"Good night sleepy head!"
"Gah!"Jill dropped her brush with
her eyes wide opened.She turned
around.
"You're done yet?"Said Jack who just
got in.
"Isn't it 'good morning'?"Jill
rolled her eyes.Jack shruged."Would it
make sense if it was night?"
Jill sighed."Wait...done yet?What
you mean?"
Jack looked at her and
smilled."We're going to do...stuff."Jill
automatically slapped him.Jack rubbed his cheek."Not that stuff!We're
going to Revire!"
"...Revire?"
"It's a town where vampires hang
out.Shop...eat...and do
non-perverted stuff."Jack said.Jill looked away."Great now I have to be
around more crazy people."
Jack laughed."Not all of them are."
"Huh?"
"Come on.Trust me."Jack pulled her
hand and both walked out.
The cold wind blew and the dead
lives dragged on the
light green grass covered with the night sky.Jack and Jill stopped
after being far away from the castle.
"So...how far is Revire?"Jill asked
looking at him."Oh very
far..."Jill glared at him."What?!Then how are we going to get
there!It'll be sunup after we walk!"
"Oh we're not walking."Jack
said.Jill looked at him."...Then what?"
Jack grinned and looked at
her.Jill's eye twitched.The raven haired man
picked her up and held him with his arms.
"GAHHH!!!"Jill blushed."Hang
on!"Jack said as he flew in the sky.
As they were in the sky,Jill's eyes
were scared because of being high
in the sky.Jill then screamed."PUT ME DOWN PUT ME DOWN!!!"
"Okay if you insist."he smilled
hanging her while on the air
grinning."GAAH DON'T PUT ME DOWN DON'T PUT ME DOWN!!!"
As they approached a dim lighted
village,Jack landed
and putted Jill down.The woman looked around with alot of
vampires...all different colors of hair and expressions.Jack started
walking and Jill caught up with him.
"You following?"Jack asked Jill
turning around.Jill nodded.
"Hey Jack!"a teenage male vampire
with short blonde hair said smiling.
"Hey Rick."he waved.
"Yo Jack my man!"a male gangster
vampire said to him.
"'Sup?"he said holding a peace sign.
"Long time no see man.What's going
on?"a female vampire said in a
african american style voice.
"Nothing much Sonya."He waved.They
continued walking.
Jill looked around and never
believed what she saw.All those words and
emotions she seen...the people seem all...normal.
"What you think so far?"Jack looked
at her.Jill spoke."I can't
believe...they all seem...like normal...like they're human."
"When humans become vampires,it
depends how they take it.It is
not we want to torture them.We want to help them.But sometimes they
take it seriously,changing their lives.But some just go on with
life.Doing their 'things' and all."Jack explained.
"And all this time I've been
thinking wrong..."Jilliana said crossing
her arms."Heh look who's the stupid one now."Jack grinned.
"Oh shutup."Jill blushed.
First stop,Margey's Darks n' Things.
They walked into a souvenir
store.The creepy tiny bell rang as
they opened the glass door.It was not very crowded since other people
were busy with other things.Almost as if they're the only ones here.
"Ah Mr.Jack."a small female vampire
with white hair and very little
winkles walked infront of him.
"Hey Margey.Just looking around for
a friend here."Jack
said.Jill started looking around.There were many crystal balls in
different colors on a stand.Then some spell books with curses as
well.There were also mini accessories for hair such as clips and cat
ears.Many other accessories like a fox and cat tail were hung.Jill
walked to where the jewelry was.
"So many stuff..."Jill became dizzy
with all the items in the
small shop.She took a look around at necklaces.Her eyes were caught
with a necklace.
The pendant was shaped as a heart in
blood red color with fake silver
around it with a fake gold necklace.
"Want that?"Jack asked behind
her."Wait you're going to pay?"Jill
asked.
"Of course."He took the necklace and
gave it to Margey at the
counter who was on a stool.Jack held out a few coins to her.She then
looked at her."Would you like to wear it now?"
"Uh...if you don't mind."Jill said
nervously.
"Here you go then."the small woman
said.Jill smilled and put it on.For
some reason it just seemed to match on her!
"Nice pick.I thought you would pick
those spellbooks to put a
curse on me."he grinned while walking out."I should try it next
time."Jill laughed jokingly.
Next stop,Barbaric Bloods,the
restuarant.
Jill walked in.Chandeliers of dim
lights decorated.Gold
wallpaper decorated the restuarant.All tables had little lights and
white table cloth.
"Don't tell me I have to drink
blood."Jill whispered and her eye
twitch.Jack laughed."Stop pushing we got time."
They sat down infront of eachother
on a small table.A tall
vampire woman with pink suit with clothing cups on her chest and white
ribbons hanging.Her short black hair looked at her.
"Hi there huns!Welcome to Barbaric
Bloods and I'll be your
waitress."she said in a country style voice.She held a pen and
notepad."What will ya'll orders be?"
"Just a glass of sugar red."Jack
said.Jill looked at the menu.
Lizard stew,Bats n' blood,Spaghetti
and eyeballs...and on into
unsatisfying foods.
"Jill?What you have?"Jack asked.Jill
looked at him."Uhm...aren't there
any normal foods?"
The talking stop and all the people
in the restuarant turned around at
her.
"EEK!"she said nervously.What did I
say she thought embarassed.
"Hmm?What's the matter darlin'?"The
waitress asked.Jack made a finger
gesture and whispered in her ear."Ah?Huh?Oh I see."
"Oh I'm sorry darlin I didn't hear
you correctly!I thought you
said normal.You want formal foods!"She said smiling.Everyone went back
to her meals.
"Phew..."Jill sighed.The waitress
got by her."It's okay hun,we
get this all the time don't be shy there.What would you like and we'll
try to fix it up."
"Uhm...what soup you recommend?"Jill
asked."Oh our best one is
White Blood Stew.It has tofu and sweet vegatables in a veggie
broth.Would you like that?"
"Just wondering...any meat stew or
anything?"
"Oh sorry hun,it's been hard getting
meat these days which
means we are out.But seriously darlin I recommend the White Blood
Stew."she smilled."Okay I'll take that."
Later on the waitress brought in a
bowl and a glass of
red blood.Also another baby cup size of blood and handed to Jill."Here
you go huns,enjoy!"she walked away.
"Wait."Jill asked and the waitress
walked back."What's the
matter darlin?"Jill pointed at the blood that was given."I didn't order
this."
"Oh everytime you walk in,you get a
free small glass of blood
to help keep strength.I figure you need it as I can tell you hadn't had
some in a while."she walked away.
"Better drink it...or else you'll go
on a rampage again."he
grinned.Jill looked at the small cup and picked it up slowly.She
quickly closed her eyes and dranked it.She then paused...
"It...had no taste."Jill said.Jack
nodded."For blood it's hard
to taste it but it helps us give energy.For other foods like that
soup,it's sometimes hard to taste."he said drinking his glass of sweet
blood.
Jill looked at her soup and took a
spoonful.The spoon entered her
mouth.The warm tasty broth felt by her tongue,soon faded away.
"I see what you mean."she said.
After finishing her soup,she started
talking."I lost my family..."
"Hmm?"Jack looked at her finishing
his blood.
"Johnson and my newborn son
Hervan..."she looked away."They
were killed by vampires.Most of my family was.My mom forced me to go to
that desert to be safe and I trained there to protect myself..."
"And that's when you came who you
are huh?"he grinned.
"Yeah...kinda amazing I used to feel
so bad about it I wish I never
existed.But now...I feel alright."Jill smilled.
"You better feel alright for the
last part."Jack said.Jill looked at
him.
Last stop,Mystery Waltzes.
"Wait a minute...this...is a
ball?!"Jill glared.People were
dancing in the circle dancing area to a waltz.The huge chandelier of
dim lights hung and gold stairs leading to a balcony.
"Of course.You said long ago you
wanted to go to a ball."Jack
laughed."Wait a minute!I meant that the dress made me like I was going
to a ball!"she said."Well isn't that a shame?After that long flashback
I had to remember."Jack pulled her hand.
"W-Wait!I don't know how to
dance!!!"
"Better learn now!"
They both got into a position."Just
follow my lead."he
smilled.And they started dancing to the waltz.Stepping to the slow
1-2-3 beat and moved to the beautiful music.Jill followed Jack and
became used to the beat and continued dancing.
People stopped and looked at them as
they stepped to the waltz
perfectly.After leaning Jill and twirling,the song was over.
Everyone clapped.Jill blushed blood
red on her cheeks and smilled at
Jack.
Dawn was almost near.Jack put Jill
down after he flew
her back to the castle.They walked inside and up the cold stairs as
everyone was asleep.Jack walked into his room.
"Boy that was great...you know kind
of ironic this is a coincidence for
all this."Jack said.
"Coincidence?"Jill asked.
"You know about your past and
all...more ironic since Revir was
up a hill...You know that is pretty ironic...Jack and Jill went up the
hill."
Jill laughed a
little."Yeah...well...good morning."she joked.
"Yeah..."Jack said.
A pause came as Jack pondered what
he had been through.Being together
with Jill...just was as the same...as...Emily.
"...Jill-"
A force tackled him to the
ground.Jill who was on him stared at him
deeply with eyes that weren't seen before.
The woman kissed the handsome
vampire on the lips.
...As Orlock stood outside floating
looking through the window.
Part
5:Despotism
Jill woke up early on the night with a smile.She got up like it was the
best sleep and it would be a nice night.The woman put on her same
dress,put on her blood heart necklace,and brushed her hair to look
nice.
Knock knock.
"Who is it?"she said smiling while brushing her hair.The door open.She
turned around.
The door was closed.No one there.
"Hmm...must be Jack sneaking around again."she said rolling her eyes
and started brushing her hair again.
Last night was the day for Jill and the truth about
theirselves.They did fun things...see the small store,the nicest
restuarant ever,and dancing with the night.Or knight shall I say?
Jill put her brush down and stretched.She headed out the door and
before opening the door...
"I thought I told you to stay away..."a cold voice said.Jill's eyes
widened in shock and turned around.
Orlock.
"Y-You!!!"she said shivering."What do you w-want?!"
"Why do you stand up for this vampire?Do you want to suffer like him?Or
just be a replacement for Emily?"he said grinning.
"Neither!I can't believe you're going to torture him!I won't let you do
that you bastard!!!"Jill insulted him.
"Oh I'm not going to torture him."Orlock disappeared and grabbed the
woman from behind.
"AHHH LET ME GO!!!LET ME GOOO!!!!"Jill screamed.
They disappeared in the dark with a shriek heard.
Jack's eyes were wide open."...I must be hearing
things."he got up and walked out.While walking in the hall,he spotted
Topaz humming a tune.A familiar tune Jack hated.
He whacked him on the head."Hey!"he said."I didn't do anything!!!"
"Had enough with that stupid rhyme?"Jack glared."Okay okay I'll stop-I
promise."he said fastening his movement.
Jack walked in the lobby and sat down on the couch.He let out a happy
sigh.Finally happy like never before...
"Jack!!!Oh thank darkness you're here!!!"Maila came running in looking
hasty."What's wrong Maila?"
"I heard a shriek...and it sounded like Jill!"
Jack paused...but then gave a laugh.
"Nice joke Maila but it won't work this time."
"I swear I'm not lieing!I heard it by her door while I was
walking in the hall.When I opened it she wasn't there!!!I swear I'm not
lieing!!!"Maila said holding the shoulders of the vampire.
Jack knew this was serious.He ran towards Jill's door and opened it...
No one there...
"Jill..."Jack whispered...he walked around and almost stepped on
something.He picked it up and held it.
The necklace he brought for her...
He clenched it with his fist as he knew who it was."Orlock...!"he then
ran fast away.
"Jack no!!!"Maila yelled.
"For some reason all of Jack's vampires he turned were putting up a
fight...this one seems easy."Orlock grinned looking at Jill.
She was hanging up high in the ceiling of the stone torture
room of Orlock.Her hands were tied up,so was her feet,and hanged by her
head.
"ORLOCK!!!"not surprised,Jack slammed the door open.
"Oh you're here.What do you think?Is everything going lovely?"he
smiled.Jack clenched his finger holding a piercer.
"Why the hell you doing this to Jill!?She didn't do
anything!!!"Jack yelled.Orlock turned his back."I made you a vampire to
get full potential.Not making you remember memories...that was the one
thing I didn't want to do."
"And you still defy me..."he finished.
"Because I'll never be like you!EVER!!!Now let Jill go!!!"
"Oh you mean the new Emily?"He laughed.Jack became pissed and
threw piercers fast.Orlock teleported and slashed his back with a
knife.
"So you see.You think you can become stronger...but never...you'll
never be strong like me,my son."
"I...am...NOT...YOUR...SON!!!"he screamed and punched him.He
fell on the stone floor.Orlock got up and laughed."If that's the way
you want it..."
Orlock snapped his fingers and Jill fell on the floor.She
coughed breathing hard from the strain.Orlock grabbed her and headed
for the iron maiden...
"Jill!!!"Jack yelled.Jill replied."No don't!I don't want you to get
hurt!!!"
"You crazy?!You won't survive in there!I survive this!!!"
"Jack please don't...I..."
"I love you..."Jill said.
"Jill..."
Orlock threw her in the iron maiden and closed it.
"JILL!!!"he cried.
...He then glared at Orlock.His eyes were angry.He was more angry than
never before...he let out a scream of rage.
He ran trying to punch him but Orlock dodged every move.Then he
was hit to the stone wall.Jack grabbed him on the neck and slammed him
on the wall,holding him.
"New deal Orlock...If I lose Jill...you lose your so-called
son."Jack glared."Oh come now Jack.She wasn't that important."he
grinned.He then disappeared.
And appeared behind Jack trying to choke him.
"Think you can be stronger?I doubt it."he laughed.
"I'll never...be like you!!!"Jack yelled.
"Oh let's try something new then."He disappeared into a white orb and
faded into Jack.
"Gurk...GAAAHH!!!"he bent down onto the floor holding his head.
The iron maiden squeaked open.For some reason Jill wasn't
affected by it.The needles either didn't touch her flesh or it became
faded like dust in the torture machine.Jill fell down in fear and
looked at Jack...
"Jack!!!"Jill ran to him.A burst of wind hit her backing her and then
Jack get up.
His eyes were closed...he then spoke."Hello...Jill..."he said grinning
and opened his eyes...the eyes of Orlock.
"Jack...?!"Her eyes were wide open in fear.
"Oh yes I am Jack...what's wrong Jill don't you love me?"he laughed
walking to her.
"Jack what's the matter?!Snap out of it!!!"
"Snap out of what?This is real..."he then threw a piercer at
her.She dodged it."Come on Jill...let's go together."he laughed
insanely.
"No...Jack!!!"Jill cried with tears in her eyes.
She stood there as Jack walked slowly to her.Jill didn't want
to lose him.He was the only one who was there for her,accepted her,and
cheered her up.All those times he was there...She didn't want to lose
Jack.
Jill ran leaning on to him...and gave him a kiss crying.
"Guurraaaahhhggg!!!!"the white orb flew away and disappeared.
Jack noticed what she was doing...but decided to let it go for a while
as he kissed her on the lips.
It was nearly dawn.Jack was laying on his bed unconscious.He woke up as
Topaz,Vallov,Maila,and of course Jill stood by him.
"Ugh...what happened?"Jack grumbled.
"We found you unconscious at Orlock's torture chamber."Topaz said then
Maila spoke."I told you not to go there!!!"
"Hmph...Orlock was behind this...he sealed this place so I couldn't
sense him."Vallov said walking out.
"Well maybe I should leave you two alone.C'mon Maila."Topaz said and
Maila followed him outside of the room and closed the door.
Jack looked at Jill turning his head."Hey weren't you in the iron
maiden?"he asked looking shock.
"I guess my new mana power?"she giggled.
"Sorry about all this...Good thing Orlock did that spell.He won't
remember anything about this."Jack grinned.
"I can't believe he tortures you like this..."Jill said."Good
thing...now I don't feel anything when he does it anyway."he laughed.
"Jack..."
"What?"
Jill looked at him closely with eyes never seen before."I know...I'm
not Emily but..."
She got on him on the bed and looked at him deeply."Would you...give me
this one chance...?"she asked.
"...One chance huh?"he said."Guess you should know the answer."he said.
They both kissed and Jack dropped the necklace he was holding...the
gift of fate brought them together...
