Also, yes I’d say Topaz has become more hardened than he was in VPX and even the old VP. This was only because his position wouldn’t make sense otherwise. He would have never stuck with Jack and tolerated, or in this case even helped out with, some of the abhorrent things he must do for Orlock (or sometimes, even just for the hell of it) if he had remained a completely benign person.
That’s kind of what I was trying to show at the end of VPX. He was afraid of embracing his darker side at first, but ultimately does.
I’d still say he has changed the least of all the characters, as you’ll see later.
Maybe he should’ve just pulled the pin instead of flaunting the grenade first, eh?

“Blood Junkies”: Vampires hopelessly addicted to blood after overindulging one too many times. Their life is blood and they are constantly searching for their next “fix”. In a way, they are little more than animals running on instinct. Identified by their dilated pupils.
